We are going “Gaga” over the acknowledgement of Steve Martin, VP of Human Resources for Marcus Hotels & Resorts, as one of the 10 winners of the Milwaukee Business Journal's HR Awards. The awards were established to recognize the important work that individuals, companies, and organizations do in the field of human resources to make the region's firms and organizations successful. We believe that a hospitality heart is something that is innate, and Steve was certainly born with it.

THE ORIGINAL GARLAND

Named for actress Beverly Garland (not Judy Garland), The Garland hotel in North Hollywood, California was named by Glam magazine as one of the 10 best hotels in the U.S. for a summer staycation. The fun programming is not just limited to the summertime - there is always something fun to do at The Garland. And "because the property sits on seven acres of outdoor greenery, you'll easily be able to forget that you haven't left the city."

The October 5^th release of the movie A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga is the fourth remake of the film. The original was released in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor, which was followed in 1954 by a remake starring Judy Garland. Then in 1976, another remake starring Barbra Streisand came to the big screen.
