Mille the canine concierge

YES! YES! CHEESE IS MY LIFE

What is the job of a canine concierge? Well, aside from spending 40 hours a week greeting and making a difference in the experience of people visiting the Hilton Milwaukee City Center in Wisconsin, it is posing for photos for the Instagram page of @millieatthehilton. And though our guests can’t take Millie home with them when they depart, Millie “swag” like plushies and Popsockets, are in high demand for our young and young-at-heart guests alike. At a 729-room convention hotel, it’s the little things – like Millie’s presence – that help make a warm, memorable impact. And she makes an im-paw-ct ;) on her community as well, being recognized as a “Pawnorary” downtown Milwaukee employee by the Downtown Business Improvement District.

SPECIAL PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES

Hotels and the people who work and stay in them are part of what make the communities around them thrive. Marcus Hotels & Resorts is proud to participate in philanthropic activities in all the markets in which we operate, which recently included the Milwaukee Kitchen Cabinet where prominent area restaurants served food and handed out gifts at Life Navigators as part of the group’s third-annual "3 Days of Christmas". In all, the group served meals and provided gifts to more than 500 people.

Did you know?

The movie A Dog’s Way Home is based on the book by W. Bruce Cameron about a dog who travels more than 400 miles to find her owner, and is currently playing in theaters. There are many stories about lost dogs who have traveled great distances and found their way home. According to PetMD, a dog’s sense of smell is a key factor in this feat as their olfactory neurons are approximately 20 times stronger than those of humans and assist in their orientation.
