On Your Marc by Marcus Hotels and Resorts
Id like the pie heated and I dont want ice cream on top, I want it on the side, and Id like strawberry instead of vanilla, if you have it. If not, then no ice cream just whipped cream, but only if its real, if its out of a can then nothing. Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally

I’LL HAVE WHAT SHE’S HAVING

At this year’s ALIS (Americas Lodging Investment Summit) conference, ForWard@ALIS was introduced to the stage. This panel of women leaders in hospitality, moderated by Andrea Foster, the 2020 Chair of AHLA’s ForWard: Women Advancing Hospitality conference, discussed relevant topics for today’s leaders. Takeaways included: companies reflecting the values of their buyers/customers, travel decision making is led by women, women championing other women, the importance of young women seeing women in leadership roles, the value of thinking outside the box, letting go of perfectionism and trusting one’s team, and continually educating one’s self to add value to your company and mission. The 2020 AHLA ForWard Conference will be held June 24-25th at the Hilton Chicago. Registration is open.

MEET CUTE

Though Marcus Hotels & Resorts operates hotels across the United States, we are excited about all the love that our headquarters city—Milwaukee, Wisconsin—is receiving in 2020. From the top-rated Milwaukee Bucks basketball team (ranked 1st in the Eastern Conference) to the Democratic National Convention to the Ryder Cup, both of which we will host in here this summer, we have to admit that we are pretty blessed. And Midwesterners aren’t ones to brag, we just put our heads down and get it done.

We LOVE Milwaukee
Did you know?

The 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The woman in Katz’s Deli following the infamous Meg Ryan scene is played by director Rob Reiner’s mother. In fact, the character of Harry was based off Rob Reiner, and the character of Sally was based off the film’s screenwriter, Nora Ephron. In the original script, Harry and Sally weren’t supposed to end up together. But, what is meant to be, in the end, will be.
